Below is an official press release from the Salsarita’s team regarding the grand opening of our new store in Tupelo, Mississippi. In honor of this grand opening, we’re partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi, a local organization designed to inspire and enable youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. We will donate 20% of all sales from opening day to the organization!

The event will kick off after the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 AM, which will be hosted by Mayor Jason Shelton and the Tupelo Chamber of Commerce/Community Development Foundation.

New Mexican-style restaurant marks grand opening with fundraiser for local charity

TUPELO, Miss., Aug. 3, 2016– Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina opens its newest location Monday, Aug. 15 at 3356 N. Gloster St. near the intersection of Barnes Crossing Road and North Gloster Street in the Shoppes at Tupelo. In honor of the grand opening, Salsarita’s is partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi, a local organization designed to inspire and enable youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Salsarita’s will donate 20 percent of all sales from opening day to the organization.

Salsarita’s offers authentically inspired Mexican favorites, such as fresh-made guacamole, signature salsas and queso, as well as customizable burritos, tacos, salads, bowls, quesadillas and nachos made fresh to order with an extensive selection of proteins and toppings. A few signature dishes include saucy burritos and the wildly addictive tortilla chips that pair perfectly with their frozen margarita.

The restaurant operates a fast-casual concept in a clean, comfortable and fun environment. Catering also will be available. The restaurant is complete with an outdoor patio.

Expansion, growth and renovation have been the focus for Salsarita’s CEO Phil Friedman since he purchased the chain in 2011. The expansion of Salsarita’s into Mississippi is the vision of lead developer JC Clark. They opened their first Mississippi Salsarita’s in October 2014 in Southaven and quickly added Starkville, Oxford, and now Tupelo locations. They plan to open six more locations throughout the state over the next few years. Clark, former director of development for a large McAlister’s Deli franchise in the Carolinas, also serves as the managing partner for Salsarita’s of Mississippi.

“Growing the Salsarita’s brand throughout Mississippi is very important to us, and opening a store in Tupelo is a step in the right direction,” Clark said. “It’s a great city with wonderful people. We’ve already received a very warm welcome and know that with our locally hired staff, guests will feel right at home when they walk through our door. We hope to become an integral part of the Tupelo community and partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs for our grand opening fundraiser is the first step!”

Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina Celebrates Grand Opening in Tupelo Aug. 15

The Tupelo location follows Salsarita’s new prototype design the company began using in 2014 that has been a proven success. The concept creates a space that offers speed, efficiency and optimal guest service. The new restaurant, which boasts more than 64 seats, will feature a unique curved service line, allowing Salsarita’s employees to better serve guests quickly. It also will feature an isolated order queue to improve the dining room experience.

As part of the grand opening events on Aug. 15, Salsarita’s will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with the Tupelo Chamber of Commerce/Community Development Foundation.
